Events began at the Butte College main campus on May 3 with a kick-off celebration held at the Center for Excellence. The kick-off feature a performance from spoken word artist Stacy Gee and an informational display about the diversity of AAPI cultures and backgrounds. On May 10, students and the community were invited to attend a lei workshop at main campus where participants  learned how to make a lei from Butte College staff and AAPI member, Christmas Aumua.
